The system is comprised of a 800m Bak-Pak which is lifted with an “A” frame on the dribble bar main carridge frame, the dribble boom then folds around the Bak-Pak and reeling and unreeling of the layflat hose can be done as normal. Attaching and detaching the Bak-Pak does not involve any placing or removing of pins etc, is fully automatic and carried out from the tractor seat! (see pictures below)

The booms consists of 48 outlets across the 12m span. Flow is controlled and distributed by 2 Vogelsang exacut distributors, each have 24 outlets and this allows for controlled and even distribution across the boom. They also have an effective cut/shear rotation whereby any straw or silage etc. is chopped before entering the applicator hoses on the boom! This eliminates any problems with pipe blockages.

ExaCut - the distributor with integrated heavy object separator

Function: The manure slurry enters the side inlet of the ExaCut and flows directly into the distributor housing. The rotor, driven by a hydraulic motor, distributes the slurry to the dribble hoses. The rotor is designed to rotate in both directions to prevent clogging and thus improves operating time. Pure quality: The knives made of specially hardened steel, which have a self-sharpening effect when moving over the openings of the cutting screen and cut up fibrous material easily. The automatic knife adjustment assures optimal cutting pressure. Foreign objects are collected inside the disposal vessel and can be removed easily.

Boom Operation

The boom is equipped with a tele-shift at the end of each boom to reduce transport length. This is easily carried out by the operator as shown below! There is also the facility to close off the outside 6 outlets, individually on each boom, this is done by means of lever ball valves at each Exacut and ensures no overlapping which is vital when applying slurry to cereals!

This also allows the machine to be used from 9-12m working width depending on the number of outlets closed off and with the tele-shift retracted or extended.

Swing Up

To avoid unwanted leakage and dripping of slurry after spreading and to reduce transport size, the booms are equipped with a swing up function. This folding of booms is fully automatic from tractor seat and is hydraulically operated.

As with all Slurrykat spreading equipment, the boom is equipped with a 360 deg hose swivel, swinging tail and coupling protection cone to greatly simplify field hose dragging operations and headland turns. Each half of the boom (4.5-6m) can be shut off individually for headland turns or finishing field points, this again is hydraulic operated from tractor seat.

As used and greatly proven by our agri contracts division the dribble pack can be equipped with a flow meter and GPS field mapping system.
Before spreading the slurry is tested on the farm, this takes aprox. 3-6 minutes using a nitrogen test kit, then knowing the nitrogen content of the slurry (ie.per 1000 gal), slurry can now be applied terms of units of nitrogen per acre/hectare as supposed to gallons per acre.

The application rate is very precise when using GPS field mapping and field guidance system with the flow meter, the operator can apply the given application rate precisely without over lapping and applying a “double application” at the end of each boom on the applied area of the previous pass.
