GPS Guidance - Trimble EZ-Guide 250 & 500 Fieldmapping System

When using Dribble bar or Trailing applications of Slurry spreading, it can sometimes be difficult to apply the slurry without creating a large overlap on to the previous pass. Over lapping can result in unwanted falling of the crop due to poor plant structure, caused by excessive growth due to the double nitrogen application caused by the overlap. It is especially common in cereals in the latter stages of plant maturity.

As widely used and proven by our contracts division the use of a satellite guidance system can restrict these problems and allow precise application of the nutrient on to the crop.
The Guidance system works in conjunction with a flow meter system constantly monitoring the amount of slurry being applied per minute, per hectare and per hour.

After trying many different types of flow meter and guidance systems, we have found the Trimble, LH Agro and Krohne combination to be very well suited to this very specific application. The Guidance system offers a full coloured screen display an also a light bar for a very user friendly package.

Guidance Patterns
AB Line

Maps a straight AB line for guidance.
Set the A point at the start of the line and the B point at the end.
A+

Set the A point to create the line.
The heading of the AB Line equals the manually entered heading (defaults to previous AB heading).
FreeForm™

The FreeForm™ guidance pattern creates curved and straight lines for guidance in fields of any shape.

The FreeForm pattern records the exact path you
have driven, to generate the next pass.
Ensure that you keep recording your path, to continue receiving guidance.
When you are recording, there is a red line behind the vehicle icon and the FreeForm logging icon is green. Guidance will then snap to the next path. You can record your path manually or enable the system to record
Curves

There are two types of curves: Identical and Adaptive.
With identical curves, guidance is based on
the initial curve. Any deviations are ignored.

Set the A point, drive the curve, and then
set the B point.
With adaptive curves, guidance is always
based on the last pass.

When Auto U-turn detection is set to On,
each new swath is automatically generated
when you turn. When Auto U-turn detection is set to Off, set the B point at the end of each pass to create the next swath.
Centre Pivot

Set the A point, drive the pivot, and then set the B point.
For best results, follow the outermost
wheeltrack of the pivot arm.

Note - To work from the center of the field outwards, the initial pivot must have a radius of at least two swath widths and an arc length of at least four swath widths.
Headland

Straight swaths automatically fill the
headland boundary.
Enter the number of headland circuits you
want before you start defining the field.

Start the headland, define the internal
guidance line, and then return to the start
circle or press to complete the headland.
Map Screens
Map Screens

By default, the view automatically switches to the perspective view when you enter a field. To set the view so it switches when you engage an autosteering system or for manual view control, in Advanced mode select Configuration / System / Display / View.
